I'm confused. SDL works just fine in windowed mode, and freeglut doesn't support resolution switching, so I can't see what capability you've lost. Can you explain exactly what your problem is again?
It sounds like you really want to be running in windowed mode in the
first place.
Andy,
Here's what I would like (and maybe it's already possible) for X11:
1. Ability to run in a window or full screen where full screen could be defined as an undecorated window that fills the entire screen.
2. The ability to hotkey between virtual desktops when FG is running. FG would reside on one of the virtual desktops.
I can do this now just fine with glut/game-mode.
If SDL can't switch to other virtual desktops when running fullscreen/no-window decorations, then perhaps would there be a way to toggle between fullscreen/window mode so that once you are running in a standard window again, then you can hotkey between virtual desktops.
Regards,
Curt.
