I plan to do a lot of 3d graphics (almost the precise reason for buying it - 
to allow me more time for programming, outside of the home).

ATI 9700 M11 128MB ram.
ATI's driver says they support upto the 9600, so I will email them to confirm 
whether they will support the 9700 (they support the desktop version).
