In the early days of the Autopilot project there was a guy claiming much better results using a different approach (i.e. _no_ Kalman filtering). He even posted a link to his thesis - but the link got lost after I accidentially removed my bookmarks file. Unfortunately not all papers on http://autopilot.sourceforge.net/bib.html are still available, Martin. P.S.: For my dimploma 'thesis' I built a 2D-filter for thermal analysis of cast-iron. Yes, this doesn't fulfill the needs for 3D-tracking of an aerial vehicle but at least I made the experience that it pays off to consider uncommon filter designs for individual purpose .... Everyone talks about Kalman filtering but I'm convinced that a different approach might maks sense. -- Unix _IS_ user friendly - it's just selective about who its friends are ! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________ Flightgear-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.flightgear.org/mailman/listinfo/flightgear-devel
