by passing the BLOBs thru an appropriate pipeline to come up with the desired product. Note the BLOBs might not always be actual rasters in the DB but instead a data stream < think actual sensor data > from which rasters are made. > Is OSSIM > developing into part of a "common use", maybe sort of 'standard' > approach. Some are using OSSIM as the back end for a WMS or WCS See OGC Web Mapping and Web Coverage Services specs at http://www.opengeospatial.org/specs/?page=specs Note these only define the protocols < REQUESTS and RESPONSES > not the how of implementation > > I hope to have a lot more to say about networked Raster enabled GIS > > DataBases in a few months :-) > > Oh, nice. I will let you know when things are available publically..... :-) In the meantime see projects such as http://www.remotesensing.org/tiki-view_blog.php?blogId=2 http://aes.gsfc.nasa.gov/documents/overview.html http://learn.arc.nasa.gov/worldwind/index.html Cheers Norman _______________________________________________ Flightgear-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.flightgear.org/mailman/listinfo/flightgear-devel 2f585eeea02e2c79d7b1d8c4963bae2d
