Personally, downloading and recompiling plib, cvs et al. code is no big issue: I do it most days. I don't see the problem for developers, we (or most of us) have the necessary tools and knowledge. And most of us only RTFI after we have tried everything else. Our Windows users (and they are probably the majority) for the most part expect everything to be done for them, and for it all to work right out of the box. Otherwise, they will give up at the first hurdle, and, what is more important, then give us a bad name.
