Exactly, so long as the developer agrees of course.  And in this particular 
case developers need to be aware that they cannot transfer rights to any 
existing submodels, textures or other components that might be borrowed from 
the currently GPL'd work.  You can use them, of course.  You just have to keep 
them GPL.

Could be? lol!  Yeah that word is a hot button on an open source mail list.  
Kind of like saying "choice" at a Catholic bible group.  Oh and before this 
comment triggers yet another flaming diversion: I can say these things because 
I am what you might call a recovering Catholic.

Geez...now I'm in trouble!

If no one steps up then I might take a stab at it next year.  It does look like 
a great project and would encourage anyone interested in 3D modeling to give it 
a go.
