You got it.  In theory, if fgsd is able to write both a new .btg file
*and* scenery database changes, then you'll be able to see what the
terrain should look like in fgfs immediately, by just loading the tile
(the altered .btg file) in fgfs.  In practice, though, the process of
modifying the input data with your changes, regenerating the scenery
tile, and comparing with the tile as fgsd wrote it directly, probably
won't produce a perfect match just because nothing's perfect.  But the
whole point is to come very very close.

Great, that sounds a good way of doing it. If any one is very keen to try the new scenery before the official release we can make off-line arrangements to distribute it and I can tag it with "alpha test" status then when the official release comes out everyone will be able to enjoy it, hopefully with any missed anomolies removed (i'm not lazy or careless just enthusiastic!! <g>).

More to the point... Fred, is there any more I can do to help apart from stop bugging you? ;-) (no reply necessary ).
