Sorry, I left town for a couple days after that last message. No, I didn't test it, but I just did and it did not work. The script tests the existance for a header in SimGear that is NOT present unless a particular option was compiled in (i.e. where looking for an absence). It can get a hit in that path regardless of how it is ordered which is why I went with the more specific test. Chances are my solution isn't the best approach, and I'm not sure it'll work for everyone, but it did work on my system.
