xpdf should be fine, I'd say - there are more exciting things to fill the
"extra" space with.

Something like fluxbox probably, certainly nothing much "heavier". Fluxbox
can still look great though and should be reasonably intuitive even for those
who have only ever used recent versions of Windows.

Probably 0.9.10?

You could possibly save yourself some space if you weren't including the KDE
libs for any other reason - I don't use either so don't really have much of
an opinion. One deciding factor might be the ease of configuring MP - I
tested the last 0.9.10 windows prerelease on someone else's box the other day
and was very impressed at how easy it was to get online.

Perhaps you could even produce one or two different "regionalised" disks with
say, US/Canada, UK/Europe etc? Obviously would depend on exactly how much
space you have available in the end.

Again, space will be something of a factor, but if possible a pair of each
major "type" of aircraft would be nice. I.e. two jet airliners, two "light"
aircraft, two military jets etc. Whatever else, be sure to include at least
the seahawk for Carrier flights!

> - terrasync?
Might be "nice" indeed, but I wouldn't consider it a priority myself. Were
you considering an option to use a USB memory stick for storing extras like
downloaded scenery / settings? It would definitely make sense then.

Should be optional IMO, since a lot of PCs are already going to be struggling
to get reasonable fps already. But it's certainly a nice feature if you have
the resources available...

I suppose it wouldn't hurt too much to include it, although it can have a
pretty bad effect on fps on lesser PCs. Your MP map is a great substitute
for some of Atlas' functions anyway...

Definitely not IMO.

> - source code/a cvs checkout for convenience?
I would think the space would be much better used on more aircraft / scenery?

> - the windows binary/setup as well?
A better idea, but again, I'm not sure it'd be worth the space cost?

The liveCD is a great idea (I was actually about to investigate doing the same
thing myself when you announced you were starting :-) I look forward to
helping test it.

Cheers,
