No, Mapserver is 'only' a tool for visualising data that's already
available - currently I'm not generating any new data here. The
difficult part is to convert data from different sources that come in
totally different data formats into one unified storage that Mapserver
is able to query.

I'm sure it would be fun to fly the 'real' AirVenture approach in
FlightGear, be it for just for fun or for real familiarization. Anyway,
someone has to refine the entourage. Is anyone willing to build the
required scenery tiles if I provide landcover data ? Please note that I
would only provide the data in shapefile format, no guarantee that it
is actually usuable for the purpose.
I think a 2x2 degree tile should be totally sufficient.
