Actually, yes, it is. Dave Culp submitted a change to *JSBSim* CVS on October 16 that had this change in it, among others: StarterHP = sqrt(MaxHP) * 0.2; The Starter HP is seen to be proportional to the square root of the max power of the engine. I agree that it would be good for the airplane flight model designer to be able to override this with his own value. That should be submitted to the "Suggestions" page (Feature Request) at the JSBSim web site.
