Hmm... hadn't thought about trying different video drivers... that wouldn't explain why some other aircraft don't display this problem though, or do you get it with all aircraft? CONFIG_PREEMPT in kernels is optional. This may be a different level of premption to the one that Koffman (who he?) refers to.
