Honestly, I wouldn't affirm that  it  is even needed :)  But  I honestly 
think 3D entertainement technology and developpers have reached a 
maturity we shouldn't neglect.

This said, as Didier, I would be really happy to deal with snow on the 
runway, or have dynamics and thermal winds in the mountains too.
