I'm really sorry that I've started this discussion. I'd say we stop it
right now and Arnt gets back to us after he has prepared a plan on how
to merge his ideas with the current file structure. A plan, that
"really works" (TM), not just some vague ideas. A plan in the sense of
"show me the code" (C Linus Torvalds ....)

As Arnt currently has not the slightest idea how the 'apt.dat' file
works, I guess the topic will stay silent for a while until he's learnt
what he is talking about.
