Life has been crazy for me for too long and for too many reasons, but we
really need to get a release out the door. It has been *way* too long.
Thinking back, our previous release happened right before life imploaded on
me. I think there are still too many loose ends yet with the OSG port so
the next release would need to be based on the plib branch.
I am looking for a volunteer(s) to help do one particular tedious job. For
each release I like to sort through the cvs logs and come up with a summary
of all the important changes, bug fixes, and new features since the previous
release. This involves running the cvs log command and let's just say the
output is verbose. I have a script that can group entries, sort everything
in order of date, and make the job a little easier. I could send a big text
file of the sorted cvs log output to someone if they would be willing to
come up with a point by point summary of all the major changes.
This needs to be done for simgear, flightgear source, and flightgear data.
This could be an evening or two of effort depending on how carefully you
read through the logs. It helps to have someone who's been tracking the
different development changes and at least has a high level understanding of
what is going on.
Is there anyone out there who'd be willing to take on this thankless task
and help get past one barrior for pushing the next release out the door?
Thanks!
Curt.
