This is definitely *not* needed for an OSG release, at least that  
parts I care about (supporting a NAV display and better flight- 
planning). There's code quality benefits for sure, but those aren't a  
reason to complicate a release cycle. I'll probably end up putting  
them to one side and working on bug-fixing / OSG if it means we can  
make a Christmas release.
