There's more than enough angry people on this list already.
IMHO that's part of the problem.
Suggestion:  Try to set a good example.  Lead by example.

I think list members should
 -- spend less time on impertinent ad-hominem attacks ("flames");
 -- spend more time actually flying the aircraft, as opposed to
  building them, putting them on the shelf, and moving on
  to other things; and
 -- (as a related point) spend more time thinking about what 
  _users_ actually want and need, as opposed to just building 
  stuff for the sake of building stuff.

The less-than-glowing user reviews of the recent release 
are an entirely foreseeable consequence of the "process" 
that led up to the release.  Forsooth, not just foreseeable
but _foreseen_ and warned about.
