First of all: welkom. Altijd leuk om te zien dat onze kleine groep Nederlanders goed vertegenwoordigd blijft. ;-) That aside, let me just add a message of caution. The original person suggesting that you should dig into the world of linux live CDs has a tendency of pushing his personal antipathy against Microsoft onto this mailing list. People who have been around here a bit longer tend to ignore him. While most of the developers, myself included, indeed do have a personal preference for Linux, I would like to mention that this is not an official project policy. Multi platform compatibility is a major design goal, windows is an officially supported platform, and we respect anybody's personal choice in these matters. I'm just writing this for two reasons. First because in the past I have seen other people go down this path on the basis of this ill informed advice, and end up in major trouble with getting FlightGear off a live CD to work. There are some specially prepared FlightGear Live DvDs, but that's rather different from what was suggested. Secondly, I recall reading on the forum somewhere that this pushing towards Linux is a source of annoyance among many windows users who have come here for help. The only specific situation where I can see that we would explicitly ask somebody to try an alternative OS, is where we have a specific hypothesis about a bug / feature affecting one OS, and not the other. I don't really see that this applies here.
