My install of flightgear ran fine once the "non-free" nvidia drivers got installed (which was VERY EASY with Ubuntu. and which proved to be V E R Y difficult with both Debian and fedora).
In fact I've just spent the entire day at an "install fest" put on by a local Linux users group, and we never did get them installed in either of those systems !!! We finally gave up up frustration!
