Just in case: The effect is quite tricky to get right, because the parameters 
and overlay texture need to be somewhat carefully tuned for each landclass, 
untuned it looks quite bad (if you have too much tiling in the overlay texture, 
the result is worse than before - dynamical de-tiling can only do so much...). 
So this needs time to get right for the whole scene, ideally it should be 
combined with the gradient transition techniques as well, and having six months 
to work on that before a release is a good thing imo.
