I think I'm sufficiently motivated to see if I can write a pre-commit hook
which rejects names containing spaces.
(Not sure how to install hook-scripts on Gitorious, but it must be documented
somewhere)
If anyone can postulate the shell-fu to detect file (not directory) names which
differ only in case, I could add that too.
