Some rental airplanes are maintained better than others; one problem
area is trim. This particular one, rented from the Brampton Flying
Club at CNC3 was pulling slightly to the left even with full right
rudder trim, full fuel in the right tank and an empty left tank.

When rigged properly, Cherokees stall straight ahead, if what they do
can be described as a stall at all. They don't drop the nose, you just
get some buffeting on the yoke and the controls get mushy. A Cherokee
will fly and even climb with full aft yoke.

Before I rented this plane, I flew a checkout in another FBO's
Warrior, and that one was *way* out of rig. In a stall, it had a
tendency to drop a wing, and I felt that if left uncorrected
(i.e. forward yoke and opposite rudder), that stall was going to
develop into a spin. Cherokees are not approved for spins. There were
other alarming signs at that FBO (Toronto Airways at CYKZ), so I had
to take my business elsewhere.

Ari.
