That's true - no glut.h in any include directories.

I have these occurences of libglut:
/usr/X11R6/lib/libglut.so.3
/usr/X11R6/lib/libglut.so
/usr/X11R6/lib/libglut.so.3.7.1

During the ./configure script I notice: 
+ found /usr/X11R6/include
+ found /usr/X11R6/lib
so I would have thought that I was covered there. However, I have tried the
symlink you mentioned and still get the same errors (see previous post). 

Again, thanks Geoff - to me being expert is all relative, as everyone seems
like they hold expert tendencies compared to me. I'm sure I'll get there,
it will just take me a lot longer than most :-)
