I'm experimenting a little bit with blender, and was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of a tutorial that covers a few of the following things:
General Controls
Saving in the format I want (i.e. without the camera and lighting sources and other auxilliary information)
A few fairly simple example models, along with manipulating them
Actually, basically, what I'm looking for is some step by step instuctions for doing things a little like the FG models, that is to say the object itself, in a simple file format that I can read into a program (I'm looking to create a simple space shooter along the lines of Gyruss, Xevious, and Galaga). So really, I just want to be able to create some relatively simple, non-animated models. The problem with finding a tutorial is that there's just so many of them, and don't have quite what I'm after.
Maybe some of you guys have some suggestions as to what sort of file formats I should be using. FYI, I'll be doing this on a Win32 PC with OpenGL. Obvious requirements are: the file saves vertex normals, spec/diff/ambi lighting info, material info, and vertex info (i.e. everything you really need for a simple model)
Thanks, JD
