Hi m. and Carl,

This might be a dumb one, will using this "--prefix=/usr/local/FlightGear" on a Linux command line solve the problem of being able to invoke waypoints and start the autopilot?

There are some already-built flight plans that are downloaded (eg KSFO_bigsur28L.xml).  We try to run fgfs with these by typing on the command line:  fgfs --flight-plan=KSFO_bigsur28L.xml      (right from the --help  --verbose instruction).  Well, we get an error that states that it can't find each of the lines of the KSFO file in "basic.dat.gz"  (which is the airport lat/lon file).

Will this --prefix=/usr/local/FlightGear/ line load some preferences or something else that will recognize the Waypoints in the KSFO file?  ie are we just not initializing the software correctly?

BTW thanks again for this help!
