As far as I now, it's not possible to land on the a/c carrier with version 0.9.8. Try the cvs-version, were it definetly works.
Note: Don't forget to put down the tailhook (ctrl + O) if you wish to catch the cables :). IMHO, the seahawk is easier to land on the uss-nimitz.
