Hi George,
Thanks for the encouragement. I'm having a great time experimenting with this
stuff :-).

As for joysticks, I use a really dumbed down way of handling it.

I have a Saitek Cyborg evo force stick.

I simply take the joysticks.xml file and remove every line but one. I then set
that one line to be my default joystick.

This has worked very well for me. As I may have told you, I'm re-installing
FlightGear and Atlas on a daily basis. I'm doing that so that I can come up
with a pretty fool-proof method that I can share with other users. This
technique with the joysticks.xml file has worked every time for me.

Ed Baker

======================================== cut line for joysticks.xml
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!--
Joystick binding definitions.
-->
<PropertyList>
 <!-- Default device -->
<!--  <js n="0" include="Input/Joysticks/Default/joystick.xml"/> -->
 <js n="0" include="Input/Joysticks/Saitek/Cyborg-Evo.xml"/>
<!-- Replaced the default with a binding to the Saitek 'named'
      entry ebaker 20050930-->
<!--
  Copy and edit the Cyborg-Evo.xml to tweak whatever entries you want.
  Once you're ready to try out a new joystick binding. Just comment
  out the current ( n="0" ) entry and replace it with your new experiment
-->
</PropertyList>
<!-- end of joysticks.xml -->
