Hello
Melchoir: Having
retired I am only surrounded by marine charts for my boat, where a sextant
still plays an important part of my navigation. It is very good that a Forum
such as this exists and, indeed, FlightGear itself for the pleasure that it
gives if not for the flying, but for technical development. I like blind flying and do it in a simulated night setting
(as long as the instruments are illuminated!). If you select a great number of
airports/fields and then check out the frequencies that are supposed to be the
default for that airfield etc, via the tool bar when the browser is open, then
fly to that field, it is likely that the ATIS frequency is not configured for
that airfield. They certainly do not match up with Atlas in the majority of
cases. I will use an example of London Heathrow; the frequencies for ATIS are
for airfields out side of LHR. As I said there are many examples of this. The
point of all this is, in the absence of proven material, if one is being
realistic with the simulation, is not to rely on the frequencies for ATIS as
mentioned in the frequency list on FG. When you check out Atlas/Map these are
correct, for the routes that I have been checking, but only once I have spent
ages to verify them, however, as I said, it is NOT possible to rely on what is
mentioned on FG itself. This is why I am looking for a list of frequencies for
ADF etc, so as to have, at a glance, what I need. Waiting
now for the next release of FG for Windows, which will take the pain out of
some of the problems users have been having with the current version. Thanks Martin ____________________ Martin Parr MPCEE Protect the environment,
