Hi all,
Short question: How do I start the Spitfire engine?
Detail: I'm compiling FG CVS using Cygwin on Win32 then using the
following (abbreviated) command line:
fgfs.exe --fg-root=<path> --aircraft=spitfireIIa
I've used the Help menu to display the Aircraft Information but still
can't get the engine started. For the sake of discussion suppose I've
pressed SHIFT-ESC to reset FG. The key sequence I've tried is:
"{" to turn on left magneto
"}" to turn on right magneto
"PageUp" until throttle is about 1/3 open
"|" (bar - the key between SHIFT and Z on a UK keyboard) five times to prime
"C" to select next cartridge
"SPACE" to fire cartridge.
I can see a plume of smoke from the engine (top marks to the modeller)
but can't keep the prop turning. What am I doing wrong?
N.B. for developers: if I repeat this a few times I get a message in
the Cygwin window claiming I'm out of gas and then a segmentation
fault.
Thanks,
Kevin.
