(Why do I always feel the need to prefix Windows advice with "I am not a Windows user but...?!) It has to involve a compiler at some point, certainly :-) There are several options; one is to fork out yet more cash to MS and fiddle about with building FG on MSVC. Not recommended unless you already have MSVC and know what you're doing with it. The best (IMO) option is to install Cygwin. This provides a unix-like environment which runs on windows; the only real downside I can think of is that framerates will probably be slightly lower than when using MSVC. Of course, you will find it strange at first if you aren't used to working from a terminal, but help is at hand.. Kevin Jones wrote an excellent tutorial which tells you all you need to know to download & install Cygwin, and then build SimGear and Flightgear from CVS. It's on the website in HTML form at http://www.flightgear.org/Docs/Tutorials/fg_cygwin/fgfs_cygwin.htm or in PDF form http://www.flightgear.org/Docs/Tutorials/fg_cygwin/fgfs_cygwin.pdf Cheers, AJ _______________________________________________ Flightgear-users mailing list Flightgear-users@flightgear.org http://mail.flightgear.org/mailman/listinfo/flightgear-users 2f585eeea02e2c79d7b1d8c4963bae2d
