I;ve watched this thread with some interest and it's come SO close to my problem that
I can't stand it. Perhaps I just missed it if my problem was discussed, but I'm asking
anyway.
I'm running RedHat 7.1 with a Voodoo3 2000 AGP card.
I've been using the CVS of plib, SimGear and FlightGear, but this isn't a new problem.
Out of the box I was able to get fgfs to work by "unlinking" the libGL.so and so.1
symlinks from the Mesa built libGL in the /usr/lib directory and pointing them at the
XFree libGL in the /usr/X11R6/lib directory. I did the same with the libGLU symlinks.
Now when I upgraded to XFree86-4.1.0 my old libGL and GLU files didn't seem to work
any more so I redirected everything back to my newest Mesa libGL and libGLU. I HAVE
hardware acceleration. Tuxracer works beautifully. The Mesa gears ran at 2222 frames
in 5.001 seconds = 444.311 FPS.
GLiv works nicely too.
My glxinfo says "direct rendering = yes"
But I still get this error:
FATAL: ssgInit called without a valid OpenGL context.
Why might his be? Like I said I know I have harware acceleration and everything else
works, but not FLightgear.
If anyone can help I will be SO greatfull. I love Flightgear. :-(
