Hi,
I'm looking at upgrading my system from an Athlon
XP-1800+ to an Athlon 64 3000. The system will
primarily run Slackware Linux, and because of this I
wanted to get a motherboard that did not use the
nVidia nForce chipsets, because nVidia seem seem
unwilling to assist in the creation of open source
drivers. At the same time, I'd like to have a PCI
Express graphics slot. Problem is that I can't find a
single PCI Express board that does not use the nForce
chipsets. Does anyone know of one (preferably one
they're using), and where I can buy one in the UK? Or
should I just give in an get an nForce 4 solution?
Thanks!

Hi Paul,
The following boards have PCIe slots and are for Athlon64 socket 939.
Abit AX8 with VIA k8T890 chipset.
Asrock 939S56-M with SiS 756 chipset.
Asus A8V-E SE with VIA k8T890 chipset.
I have no experience with these boards btw.
