Hi there, I'm new to FlightGear and just installed it on my Dell Inspiron 9100 Notebook with the following hardware:
- Multi processor Pentium 4 CPU 3.40GHz - ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 AGP Graphics adapter: Memory size 128 MB, DAC Internal DAC(400MHz), BIOS 113-A10812-106 I'm running Windows XP Professional SP2. FlightGear does not run on my system so far. I installed from the CD I received yesterday from Curt Olson and used the default options. In the FlightGear Wizzard I could only choose either the A-10 or the UFO without creating an immediate crash of fgrun.exe. In either case, fgfs.exe crashes after clicking "Run" at the end with the following lines in the command line window: >> opening file: C:/Program Files/FlightGear/data/Navaids/carrier_nav.dat C:/Program Files/FlightGear/data/Navaids/TACAN_freq.dat Unknown exception in the main loop. Aborting... Possible cause: No error << On the splash screen it reaches the point of "generating sky elements". Windows creates the following error message: >> FlightGear: fgfs.exe - Application Error The exeption Floating-point division by zero. (0x000008e) occurred in the application at location 0x00659e42. << If I click on fgfs.exe directly, The command line appears with the following lines: >> Base package check failed ... Found version [none] at: \Flightgear Please upgrade to version: 0.9.9 Hit a key to continue... << Could anybody tell me what's going wrong here and what could be done to get it to work? Thanks in advance! Hans ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Do you grep through log files for problems? Stop!
