There is a bug in freeglut-2.4.0; use either freeglut-2.2, freeglut CVS or even less painful, SDL. If you're going to the trouble of building from source anyway, I'd say you'd be as well just using the latest CVS SG & FG (note that you will also need the latest "data" from CVS too). The more people testing the better, especially ones with non-nvidia cards... If you really just want 0.9.9 plus the fix for ATI cards, you could try replacing simgear/screen/RenderTexture.cpp with a slightly newer version from the CVS browser: http://cvs.simgear.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs/viewcvs.cgi/SimGear/simgear/screen/RenderTexture.cpp?cvsroot=SimGear-0.3 Perhaps revision 1.11 would fix your problem.
