thanks for the help. I did it and the nimitz appeared.
2 odd things thought (FGFS 0.9.8, 10.3.9)
1. There were a series of red T's in the air leading straight to the nimitz flight deck.
2. by the time I got lined up to the nimitz, it was sailing into KSFO past the end of the runways and I dropped throught the deck onto terrafirma.
