I have tried that to no avail same message.
The instance of FG I am using is the Debian testing package of
FG 9.10 and for whatever reason it has no data directory  unlike
the windows versions I have used in the past which do have a data directory.
Like I say if I issue the commands from the CLI it works perfectly.Use the 
script
to issue,what seems to me,the same commands and it does not work.
