You didn't mention which OS you want to use. Under WinXP, I never add problems
with FlightGear on a Laptop ATI chipset. Either a X200 or a X1400 I have now (
on a Dell Inspiron 6400/E1705 ). I think a X1600 is fine under Windows, 3D
clouds included.
