It shouldn't be that hard to write a Nasal script to do something
similar to this, like Melchior's ac_state.nas. It could remember the
last runway used at each airport and when not given a specific runway at
startup, check to see if that airport has been used before, and default
to that runway. Since most people only use a few airports, this would
result in fairly small personalized storage files.

It would also be nice, like Chris said, to have a default runway defined
for every airport. This could be a headache to set up though unless we
just did it programatically like selecting the largest runway or the
runway with the most complete set of lights and ILS. Of course, that
could be done at startup as well.
