I notice that the submodels for the smoke puffs are rendered before the
plane is. Or at least, that appears to be what is cutting large holes
out of the port tail boom. Perhaps submodels should be added to the
scene graph later. Or better yet, let's see if OSG does something smart
to alleviate this. Z-buffer sorting of transparent objects has always
been a nagging problem for model builders.
