..uhuh.  5-8 fps around KOSH, 18-20 over water, on a 7 year old AMD k6-2
450MHz with an AGP 1x slot with a 2 yr old 128bit 128MB ATI 9250 clone
running xorg-7.1.1's GPL licensed radeon v 4.2.0 on top of Debian Sid at

...and running FG-0.9.10 in various window sizes, with absolutely 
_no_ effect on frame rates on trying "big ass" FG windows, I usually 
run it windowed at 1920x1440x24bpp.  This box has 384MB sdram.

..all this speaks volumes on GPL vs closed source code quality.
