Those who are directly involved with scenery generation correct me if I'm heretical... but the reason for most of your problems is that the 0.9.10 scenery is considerably _less_ accurate than the previous build in at least one major respect. That is, the coastline. It's pretty awful, whereas in the last release it was really very good indeed. You should trawl through the archives for GSHHS and you'll no doubt see some discussion on the subject. As I recollect (possibly wrongly!) the main reason for not using the GSHHS data for this release was that the Great Lakes were being badly misplaced by Terragear. (I could go on to say how much I personally care about that, but... :-) Given that so much of our scenery consists of coastlines, this is a pretty serious setback, but I trust that some day it'll be resolved. In the meantime, you could in theory rebuild chunks of scenery you're interested in with the GSHHS data and see a significant improvement. Martin's mapserver (you'll find it mentioned in the archives too) allows you to see instantly how much better the GSHHS is than the current VMAP for practically anywhere you look. Don't give up on your modelling because of a temporary problem in FG's scenery generation process. Just place your buildings where they are in real life and the scenery will improve, sooner or later. These things do get resolved... eventually! Cheers, AJ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
