There are several keyboard layout guides around, but I think the most 
complete (and most likely to be correct) is map.pdf which is 
generated "semi-automatically" and quite up to date.  There's also the help 
available within the sim from the help menu which ought to be fairly 
accurate.

Indeed it is; those who know their way around FG rarely look at the "basic" 
documentation and so those who don't are then misled by errors or outdated 
information contained therein.

Having said that, I think our documentation has improved greatly in the past 
while, and The FlightGear Manual (somewhat confusingly named "getting started 
guide") is actually quite comprehensive from an "end user" point of view.  
It's also kept up to date... several incorrect statements about keybindings 
have been removed from it in the past few months ;-)
