I would suggest trying to connect with an "old school" ftp client (one that
doesn't hide the error message that the server sends out in order to make
things "easy") and see what the actual error message is.

Well I did try a little bit of trouble shooting to the limit of my ability
using two live versions and the
only message I got was along the lines of "cant connect to flightgear.org".
I reported it here in the users list for two reasons.One to let people know I
was having a problem and
to see if any one else was having the same problem and it seems they are.And
two to find out if there was a work around and I was provided with two.
Your response was to suggest I had not done enough to provide you with
information as to what might
be the problem.I am sorry I am using a modern version of linux on a GUI instead
of the command line.
Maybe instead of me going backwards Flightgear could try moving forward.
