Yes, actually there is no other way. There are two possible solutions 
for this topic
1) connection the rotors or the rotorgear to the existing YASim engines
2) Adding downwash to the YASim propeller

Both would be an important improvement.

Nice to read. (By the way: it is possible to split collective and 
throttle now, but there is no designated mapping of these controls in 
the property tree now.)
