I didn't know that one (and it wouldn't work on my Linux system, anyway), but just a few days ago I saw it in action at a friend's MS Windows machine with fgfs. It seemed to work quite well, despite our quick-and-dirty setup (dual-color LED with inappropriate resistor and a USB microscope cam). With a better suited cam with IR-filter and IR-LEDs this should be a decent solution.
