Hi

My name Tim:

I'm running Window7 Home Premium.
I have a Dell Studio XPS 8100 with an i5CPU 64 bit - 16Gigs of DDR3 RAM - an
ATI Radeon 5450 Video Graphics Card.

I have, for about a month now, been trying various ways to get Flight Gear
2.0-64Bit to show me nice terrain, Airports that are Marked and Gray in color
instead of being black or green or brown, and Aircraft that shows
instrumentation instead of vague shadows.

Thinking it might be my ATI Radeon 5450 Video Graphics Card, I downloaded
another Flight Simulator to check my Card out. I tried the
XPlane Demo and was instantly impressed. Excellent Terrain - Marked & Gray
Colored Runways - Detailed Instrumentation for the Aircraft.
I loved it so much - I bought it and plan to buy The Yoke/Throttle/Pedals in
the near future.

I still wish I could get FlightGear to co-operate. Unfortunately, I'm out of
ideas.

The Opening GUI is:
Executable: C:/Program Files/FlightGear/bin/Win64/fgfs.exe
FG_Root: C:\Program Files\FlightGear\data
FG_Scenery:
C:/Program Files/FlightGear/data/Scenery/w120n40/
C:/Program Files/FlightGear/data/Scenery
C:\Program Files\FlightGear\scenery
C:\Users\mytimothy\FlightGear
Terrasync.exe: C:\Program Files\FlightGear\bin\Win32\terrasync.exe
Airport Cache:
C:/Users/mytimothy/AppData/Roaming/flightgear.org/fgrun//airports.txt

Thanks for your help.

Tim
