..hum. Microsoft has an history of resorting even to
litigation, to try stall their competition.

..this hardware should run at least 8 times quicker than mine.

..you see anything like these?:

..we have a few shader bugs, both with ATI and Nvidia hw:

http://code.google.com/p/flightgear-bugs/issues/detail?id=262

..as you see from my screen shot pile, some bugs are getting fixed.

..first I'd like you to try http://knopper.net/knoppix/index-en.html,
you want the latest version, cd, dvd or on an usb, and you boot it
with "knoppix64 toram " to run it from ram disk. Once it's up, open
a xterm (command line interface window) from the menu, in that, become
root with "sudo su - ", there was no passwd last time I did this.

..then you install FG onto the ram disk with:
"aptitude update ;aptitude install flightgear ;aptitude clean ;exit ",
then fire it up and compare.

..parallel to the released version, you can also install FG-git from:
http://www.gitorious.org/fg/fgmeta/blobs/raw/master/download_and_compile.sh
and run it as knoppix in /home/knoppix/FG-git with e.g.:
"./download_and_compile.sh -s -a y -p y -c y -d y -r y -j8 ALL ",
you have 4 cpu cores that can do 2 "HyperThreads" per core.

..otherwise just follow the cookbook recipes at:
http://wiki.flightgear.org/index.php/Scripted_Compilation_on_Linux_Debian/Ubuntu
or http://wiki.flightgear.org/index.php/Building_FlightGear_-_Linux

..with FG-git you may want to keep the 10GB of aircraft etc data
on disk or an usb-stick, to speed up your next compile, fun part
is, you _can_ do it all on "just" 16GB of ramdisk. 8o)

..FG-git also works on Wintendo7, but Microsoft tools suck,
I hear, my last Wintendo was W95. ;o)
