I have only even run Flightgear on NVidia cards. There are packages
available on Ubuntu but I haven't tried them on the PC with an Intel
graphics card to see if they will work.
root@sdrbox1:/usr/src/ghpsdr3-alex# apt-cache search flightgear
fgfs-base - Flight Gear Flight Simulator -- base files
fgo - simple graphical launcher for FlightGear
fgrun - graphical frontend for running FlightGear
flightgear - Flight Gear Flight Simulator
simgear-dev - Simulator Construction Gear -- development files
simgear2.4.0 - Simulator Construction Gear -- shared libraries
This is what I suggested to Donn.
Mesa-libGLESv2-2
Description :
OpenGL|ES is a cross-platform API for full-function 2D and 3D
graphics on embedded systems - including consoles, phones, appliances
and vehicles. It contains a subset of OpenGL plus a number of
extensions for the special needs of embedded systems.
May be as it's only a subset of OpenGL it's missing something that is
needed.

Sid.

Typically you need to install the hardware accelerated drivers for
your video card, even on linux. That said, I've always stuck with
nvidia graphics hardware here so I don't know what is specifically
required for a radeon card or what issues you might run into. Caution
Arnt may troll about open-source video drivers and groklaw endlessly,
but I've never heard that he got FlightGear running reasonably on
purely open-source drivers. On the other hand, my experience is with
nvidia so I may not be much help here either.

No Sir as a user. I had a suggest from Sid Boyce and it was about a
file.rpm which I fond and it didn't help. Except I was going to
recompile it as a test. But again it will no longer compile for a
test.
