I grew up in the church. I was bascially forced to go so I didn't have a choice to decide on what religion. But, If you don't have a personal relationship with God just like TD Jakes said going to church will be empty. I may not go to church every sunday or for bible service or what have you. But, I stay in prayer.. Most people that go to church faithfully are hypocrits and the biggest sinners. But, God already knows you heart and thats all that matters in the end..
