Not sure I understand this assertion - what makes you think fltk-2 will be more acceptable to users than fltk-1.1? They don't look much different from the outside. I wouldn't expect an end user to know or care which GUI lib was active. Maybe you mean themes and such? Fltk-2 has theme support, but it doesn't actually work currently. Fltk-1 has limited, simple, scheme support, which does work, in its basic way.
